2024 Turkish-Hungarian Cultural Year
The Grand Closing Ceremony
The closing event of the 2024 Turkey-Hungary Cultural Year was held at the Beştepe National Congress and Culture Center with the participation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Hungarian President Tamás Sulyok, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, ministers, ambassadors, consuls general, senior executives, guests, and members of the press.
Throughout the year, a total of 170 events were organized in nearly all cultural and artistic disciplines. Events promoting Hungarian culture were held in numerous cities, from Tekirdağ to Muğla, and from Bolu to Trabzon.
The friendship that officially began 100 years ago is now moving forward more powerfully towards the future.
At the closing ceremony, Muğla Honorary Consul Hamdi Akın, Kayseri Honorary Consul Osman Şahbaz,
Trabzon Honorary Consul Umut Durbakayım, and Kütahya Honorary Consul İsmet Güral were present together.
Trabzon Honorary Consul Umut Durbakayım, Turkiye's Ambassador to Budapest Gülşen Karanis Ekşioğlu, Kayseri Honorary Consul Osman Şahbaz, and Hungary's Consul General in Istanbul Attila Pinter also came together at the ceremony, adding meaning to the event.
